The GA Unit
Our next generation General Anaesthetic Surgical Suite
A Mobile-Modular General Anaesthetic Surgical Suite
We are excited to share that our new unit is now in advanced stages of development. Working once more alongside our partners at Neat Vehicles, we have developed a unit that is designed to give even greater flexibility to the types of procedures it can be used for whilst maintaining its plug and play functionality.
Our new General Anaesthetic unit will be just as manoeuvrable as our local anaesthetic offering, but will come with the added benefit of a recovery room, a larger operating theatre space incorporating a UCV canopy, medical gases and ramped access.
The modular aspect means we are able to achieve a greater footprint and provide a natural patient flow throughout, from entrance to recovery and discharge.
The substantial 45m2 surgical space contains an overhead UCV canopy, UVC disinfection lighting, extensive storage units, preparation area, and leads directly onto both a 2-bed recovery room and a dirty utility room.
The unit is still highly mobile and is designed to be set up with great ease. Our plug and play philosophy means the unit can be set up on site within a day and requires just some basic utility provisions. A separate pod is delivered alongside to make provision for medical gases.

What Is Inside?
Light grey, Tarkett IQ Granit vinyl flooring is used throughout the unit. Ceilings and walls are finished in a wipe clean, high gloss white laminate with all door furniture finished in aluminium.
Fixed units are finished in a light silver grey with darker pewter coloured worktops.
Ceiling panel lights give a cool white ambiance to the internal environment.
The theatre space has an additional UV‐C light sterilisation system. This ultraviolet light system is designed to be switched on for a predetermined time at the end of the theatre list to compliment the usual hydrogen peroxide based cleaning.
Data and phone points are located in convenient places throughout the Unit.
Ventilation & Climate Control
HEPA filtered clean air is delivered to the theatre space and cascaded throughout the unit in accordance with HTM 03‐01 regulations.
A UCV canopy overhead allows for an extension range of procedures to be carried out in the space.
An ultra‐violet water sterilisation unit is fitted to the water system so the water on board is potable. Hot water is provided by under sink heaters therefore minimising the risk of legionella. The scrub sink in the theatre space has an infra‐red mixer tap.
Security & Safety
The unit is fitted with a fire and smoke detector system that sounds an onboard alarm with remote monitoring. This can be linked to a smart phone app.
All emergency exit routes are signed with emergency lighting. In the event of a power failure, there is an emergency back‐up system which will provide autonomous power for up to 60 minutes. The electrical system has a surge protector.
The unit is fitted with 5 lever locks on all external doors. There is a wired alarm system on board.
