MEET THE FOUNDERS

Over the last 10 years Dr Martin White and Dr Ross Kelly established a community based surgical service across Cumbria. Working alongside like minded consultants and commissioners throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, they witnessed the strain it was having on NHS services. The idea of the Enigma Mobile Surgical Unit was born.

After a  year of development alongside a specialist manufacturer, the mobile surgical unit is now ready to deploy with ease. It is capable of offering surgery for high volume, low risk, walk-in walk-out cases. Ideal for making a dent in the growing surgical backlog.

Dr Martin White - MBChB, MRCS, MRCGP

Martin qualified from University of Dundee in 1999 alongside Dr Kelly and initially pursued a surgical career gaining his surgical qualification. Witnessing how rewarding General Practice can be in building long term relationships with patients and families, he decided to pursue his GP qualification. However the enjoyment of surgery never waned. Over the last 10 years Martin has developed a respected community based surgical service, offering local anaesthetic surgery in community settings across the whole of Cumbria (Cumbriamedicalservices.co.uk)
