THE EDEN UNIT
An Innovative Plug & Play Mobile Surgical Suite
A Fully Mobile Local Anaesthetic Surgical Suite
The Eden Surgical Suite has been designed and built in partnership with Neat Vehicles to create a fully mobile local anaesthetic surgical suite that can be set up on your site with great ease.
Housed in a custom built road legal Maxiflex HGV trailer, when stowed it has an overall size of 2.53m wide x 13.90m long x 4.20m high. The unit is fitted with a self levelling system and two side pods which, when deployed, give an overall width of 6m.
The hydraulically operated rear moulding lifts up to provide light and weather protection to the rear patient access and lift. When deployed the approximate overall length is 17m.
One way, double glazing is used in the theatre, reception and multifunction room windows. A patient lift measuring 0.82m x 2.00m complete with stainless steel handrails, is located at the rear of the unit and is designed to be operated and supervised by a member of staff using a wired remote control. The lift also facilitates a stretcher for emergency access. All stairs are made from perforated stainless steel with handrails. The toilet facility is designed with the disabled patient in mind.

What Is Inside?
Light grey, Tarkett IQ Granit vinyl flooring is used throughout the unit. Ceilings and walls are finished in a wipe clean, high gloss white laminate with all door furniture finished in aluminium.
Fixed units are finished in a light silver grey with darker pewter coloured worktops.
Ceiling panel lights give a cool white ambiance to the internal environment.
The theatre space has an additional UV‐C light sterilisation system. This ultraviolet light system is designed to be switched on for a predetermined time at the end of the theatre list to compliment the usual hydrogen peroxide based cleaning.
The Unit will be supplied with an Aneticaid QA4 powered operating bed with additional ophthalmic head rest, a slit lamp, Brumaba surgeon’s chair suitable for microsurgery, assistant’s chair, two instrument trolleys, pharmaceutical fridge, waiting room, consulting room and staff room armchairs. Additional items can be supplied as requested.
Data and phone points are located in convenient places throughout the Unit.
An ultra‐violet water sterilisation unit is fitted to the water system so the water on board is potable. Hot water is provided by under sink heaters therefore minimising the risk of legionella. The scrub sink in the theatre space has an infra‐red mixer tap.
Security & Safety
The unit is fitted with a fire and smoke detector system that sounds an onboard alarm with remote monitoring. This can be linked to a smart phone app.
All emergency exit routes are signed with emergency lighting. In the event of a power failure, there is an emergency back‐up system which will provide autonomous power for up to 60 minutes. The electrical system has a surge protector.
The unit is fitted with 5 lever locks on all external doors. There is a wired alarm system on board.
Ventilation & Climate Control
HEPA filtered clean air is delivered to the theatre space at a rate of 25 air exchanges per hour. The air flow is greater than 25 air exchanges per hour in the prep room to allow instrument trays to be layed up, facilitating high flow surgical lists.
The air handling unit is certified in accordance with the latest HTM 03‐01 regulations. Climate control is via an air conditioning unit.
