THE CALDEW UNIT
OUR NEXT GENERATION GENERAL ANAESTHETIC SURGICAL SUITE
A MOBILE-MODULAR GENERAL ANAESTHETIC SURGICAL SUITE
We are excited to share that our new unit is now complete and ready for deployment!
Working once more alongside our partners at Neat Vehicles, we have developed a unit that gives huge flexibility to the types of procedures it can be used for whilst maintaining its plug and play functionality.
Our new General Anaesthetic unit is highly manoeuvrable and easy to deploy like our local anaesthetic offering, but with the added benefit of a recovery room, a larger laser-safe operating theatre space incorporating a UCV canopy, medical gases and ramped access.
The modular aspect means we are able to achieve a greater footprint and provide a natural patient flow throughout, from entrance to recovery and discharge.
The substantial 45m2 surgical space contains an overhead UCV canopy, extensive storage units, preparation area, and leads directly onto both an anaesthetic room, recovery room and a dirty utility room.
The unit is designed to be set up with great ease. Our plug and play philosophy means the unit can be set up on site within a day and requires just some basic utility provisions. A separate pod is delivered alongside to make provision for medical gases.
WHAT IS INSIDE?
Theatre Touchscreen Control Panel
At the centre of the 45m2 theatre space is a Benders’ top of the range 24″ CP9 touchscreen control panel, that allows users to control all aspects of the theatre environment including lighting, ventilation, medical gas and alarm systems.
Internal Finishings
Light grey vinyl flooring is used throughout the unit. Ceilings and walls are finished in a wipe clean, laser-safe matt white laminate with all door furniture finished in brushed aluminium.
Fixed units are finished in a light silver grey with darker pewter coloured worktops.
Lighting
Ceiling mounted LED panel lights give a cool white ambiance throughout the suite, and two operating lights are ceiling mounted in the theatre.
Water
Potable water is provided on board by an ultra-violet water sterilisation unit. Under sink water heaters provide instantaneous hot water, minimising the risk of legionella.
There is a knee operated scrub sink in the theatre, with additional stainless steel sinks in both the anaesthetic and recovery rooms.
Ultra Clean Ventilation & Climate Control
An Ultra Clean Ventilation canopy within the theatre allows for an extensive range of procedures to be carried out in the space.
HEPA filtered clean air is delivered and cascaded throughout the unit in accordance with the latest HTM 03‐01 regulations, and the climate controlled by on the on board heat pump.
Security & Safety
Hardwired fire and security systems are fitted on board, both of which can be monitored remotely and have potential to interlink with a buildings BMS system.
All emergency exit routes are signed with emergency lighting.
In the event of a power failure, an emergency back‐up system will provide autonomous power for up to 60 minutes, and an IPS system provides a secure and safe power supply to the theatre lighting and blue medical sockets.
Laser Safe
Laser safe blinds are fitted to the theatre door windows, and a central theatre touchscreen control panel operates a remote door locking mechanism with illuminated ‘in use’ signs above all entrance doors. Two dedicated laser power sockets are fitted to the theatre pendants.
Comms
Data and phone points are located in convenient places throughout the Unit.
